It’s the best way to discover the least-known side of this great little country through its mountains and snowy valleys

Andorra is a little gem in the Pyrenees, unknown to many. In its mere 468km2, it has 3 Natural Parks: Sorteny, Comapedrosa, and Vall del Madriu-Perafita-Claror, this latter being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Skiing in them is a delight!

The programs we offer are based on 5 days, so that you can discover, get to know and enjoy these mountains in a much deeper way, although, should you not have that much time, we can organize shorter programs (such as two days – weekend).

Day 1:
Meeting and presentation of the mountain guide in the chosen accommodation. We will carry out the verification of the ski and safety equipment together before leaving for the starting point to climb the Cap del Isard Peak (2,469 meters).

This first day will also involve DVA practices and search with shovel and probe to remember   and / or learn how to use the safety material before the mountain excursions. We include this safety “clinic” because safety is basic knowledge before going skiing in the mountain, the activity will be adapted to the group level. After the practice, we will ascend to the Peak of Cap del Isard to enjoy the wonderful views it offers and then enjoy a great descent that’s both fun and easy through an open forest.

Day 2:
You will move to the Ordino valley to the Sorteny valley. From there we will go to the Peak of El Forn (2,701 meters). This peak is located on the border between France and Andorra.
This climb is one of the best known by Andorran skiers as it leads to a great variety of descents depending on the snow conditions. You can also ascend to other peaks, such as Pico de Salt, or make a circular crossing through the Thoumasset valley.

Day 3:
The big day! The idea will be to ascend to La Serrera peak through the Ransol Valley. This peak is 2,914 meters and is one of the 7 highest peaks in Andorra. A great classic that you mustn’t miss! The views from this peak are indescribable, they’re that magnificent. The ascent is varied: it goes up the valley, but we’ll have to use crampons on the final stretch. The final 1,000-metre descent is simply perfect.

Day 4
Another great day of skiing as you will climb the majestic Font Blanca Peak, another one of the 7 big ones of Andorra, with its 2,908 meters. The idea will be to make a circular route, departing from Castellar, near the Arcalis resort. The descent on the west side is usually a real gift for those of us who love skiing; it’s an even descent with spectacular snow.

Day 5
The Peak of Coma de Varilhes (2,758 meters), which divides the Incles and Ransol valleys. It’s a magnificent route: we’ll climb Cap d’Entor to continue along the ridge that separates these two valleys and thus reach the Peak. We will go down the classic route to Ransol, where the start is a regular wide descent that ends in a wonderful forest, and it’s an easy ski to reach the bottom of the Ransol Valley.

In case of bad weather, we have other safe itineraries with very good forest descents to limit the risk, besides improving the visibility in the descents. These days also end up being great skiing days, as well as making skiing safer.

Option:
Lengthen your stay by one more nights to enjoy one of Andorra’s guarded refuges, or modify the program and change any of the 5 nights for a night in a refuge.

Our typical program is just an idea that we offer, but your guide will adapt the program to your levels, so that we can offer other routes. In addition, depending on the quality and condition of the snow and the avalanche warnings, your guide will adapt the program to give you high-quality, safe skiing.

Skiers in good physical condition and with a good level of skiing.
You need to be in good physical form, be able to ski touring for around 6 hours a day, with a vertical gain of +/- 1,000 meters per day.
