The weather
The weather in Lofoten is not very cold for the latitude and this is because the Gulf Stream. For this reason, fishing has been essential in the economic development of these islands. In February and March, Cod enters the archipelago and we can see the islander’s fish and dry the fish Torfisk for 6 months in order to store and cook it later.
In the fishing villages you can see and discover their old Rorbu, the huts used by the fishermen at the beginning of century.

ENJOY THE NATURAL SPECTACLE OF THE NORTHERN LIGHTS FROM THE END OF SEPTEMBER TO MID-APRIL.
The Vikings were the most important cultural icons of ancient Norway and, as not of Lofoten. In these islands, little has changed: the mountains, the sea, the fjords… This movie spot is the ideal setting for the Viking Museum of Lofotr, an old Iron Age farm that houses the largest known Viking building, blacksmith’s forge and a royal oars boat.
This reconstruction of a Viking village and their guides dressed according to the theme bring us the reality of the way of life of this civilization.

Our lodge, “Lofoten Playground”, is located in the town of Henningsvaer (coordinates of Henningsvaer 68.1542 ° N, 14.2073 ° E) One of the most charming fishing villages in the archipelago, formed by a group of islands linked to small bridges.
You can also visit the Kaviar Museum, one of the best museums of contemporary art in Norway and a gallery known for their photographic exhibitions of Northern Lights.
